CENTRAL ESSAY THESIS
“Restoring classical frescoes without touching ancient plaster through non-invasive laser mapping.”
For centuries, fresco restoration meant physical intervention — adding synthetic binders and retouching pigments that inevitably altered the chemical composition of original walls.
Our conservation lab has developed a multi-spectral laser projection system that maps micro-fissures and projects calibrated chromatic wavelengths directly onto the surface, allowing visitors to see the artwork as it appeared in 1680 without a single brushstroke applied to the fragile lime.
