Ir. Soekarno
Architectural & National VisionaryARTIST PHILOSOPHICAL STATEMENT
“Architecture must evoke the collective pride of an emancipated civilization, combining colossal concrete geometry with spiritual resonance.”
Trained as an engineer and architect at the Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng, Soekarno spearheaded post-colonial monumentalism, commissioning world-renowned landmarks that redefined Southeast Asian modernism.
His spatial philosophy united vernacular Indonesian forms with bold brutalist geometries, believing that public art exhibitions serve as democratic arenas for cultural enlightenment.
